Nir Blu is a crazy piano monster. No piano is safe.
His albums Sleepyhead and Egress are Indie gems played around the world. I Don’t Care and Girlfriend have been in the top 10 on numerous Canadian charts. His first Music video Sleepyhead won Best BC music video at the Okanagan Film Festival. His instrumental compositions have been used in films, TV shows, art videos, games, for choreography, installations and exhibitions. Sometimes Nir goes into a bear den and experiments with VR and technology to create digital musical instruments, procedural musical games and experiences. He just finished recording his third full length album “Monsters” at The Warehouse Studio in September 2017 featuring tracks Don’t Let the Monsters Eat your Soul and Fall Life. Monsters will be released worldwide on January 18th, 2018 and available EVERYWHERE online. Recorded Live off the floor with bassist Darren Parris (Marcy Playgroud, Frazey Ford) and drummer Flavio Cirillo (Hail the Villain, Dallas Smith) Monsters also features a string quartet in tracks Don’t Let the Love Die and Work and Never Play, arranged by Donovan Seidle (Concertmaster for the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra). The album was produced by Nir Blu and Adam Greenholtz (engineer for Muse, Sam Roberts, k-os).
Nir recently received a Music BC Innovation grant for his Music (VR)ideo productions and is headed back to the studio for a solo piano album.
