AUDITIONS Driftwood Players Present. It is the time of year that we get to work planning for our Fall production. In this case it is “Body and Soul”, a comedy by Elizabeth Elwood. It promises to be a fun play with a fun team, and we’re hoping you can help out, whether on stage, back stage, in the construction shop, or at the business desk.

Audition Notice
Body and Soul – A Comedy in two acts by Elizabeth Elwood
Director: Elizabeth Elwood. elizabethelwood64@gmail.com
Producer: Bill Forst. wbforst@gmail.com
Co-Director: Gina Gaudet
Callback likely in the following week. Date to be determined.
Synopsis:
A romantic comedy full of high spirits in the form of the lively ghosts who inhabit a heritage home in the Queen’s Park area of New Westminster. When the top-floor tenant, Timothy Grey, quits his job to write a book about one of the Royal City’s forefathers, his friend, Conrad, finds a very unorthodox way to ensure the historic details are correct. With the help of a psychic seamstress, Conrad restores the resident ghost and sets off a chain of events that turns history upside down. Add in a glamorous fiancée, a cranky landlord, a pizza delivery man and a pretty librarian from the downstairs suite, and the result is whimsical fun for those who enjoy spirited comedy of the otherworld variety.
Characters Required: four male and four female
Timothy Grey, a lawyer who has quit his job to write a book
Laurie McMardle, Tim’s glamorous career-minded fiancée who wants Tim to rejoin the law firm
Conrad Bright, Tech wizard and inventor who shares Tim’s apartment
Jenny Brooks, an attractive librarian who lives in the suite on the next floor down.
Tibby Tailor, a seamstress with psychic powers who lives across the hall from Jenny
Geordie Fairfax, the cantankerous landlord who owns the heritage house
Mary Fairfax, the resident ghost, a voluptuously attractive lady of ‘indeterminate age’.
Ernie, a cheery pizza-delivery man.
