Rent the Playhouse

The Playhouse is home to a wide range of professional and amateur events from near and far throughout the year.  This 146-seat venue is a fully equipped theatre with light, sound, projection systems and is known for its versatility and superb acoustics. The GLHS constantly work to upgrade its capabilities while keeping it affordable.

Private rentals

Yes, we offer private rentals as well. The stage and auditorium are the perfect space for rehearsals, workshops, photo shoots, meetings, classes, lectures plus more…. Tell us what you have in mind. Contact us for more information.

Stage Dimensions and Drapery

The full stage area is 40’ wide by 16′ deep without legs and 14’3″ high (to light bar). There are 3, 8′ wide legs each side which are moveable and can be angled independently of each other. The stage is equipped with right, left and centre entrances and exits. There is a large Green Room below the stage.

Mainstage

Screen: Motorized drop from the ceiling, mid-stage. 16’ diagonal, HD (16:9) aspect ratio.
Projector:  BenQ digital HD 1080p projector, 4,000 lumens.
Input options: HDMI from booth, or stage.  

Rear projection 
Screen: Upstage screen with 10′ X20′ projection area suitable for full backstage effect.
Projector: Panasonic PT-MZ570 LCD laser projector laser, 6000 lumens.
Input options: HDMI input from backstage, or booth.
